I ordered this recovery suit to help keep my dog from accessing her stomach and chest during allergy season. She gets hives from outside play and can quickly have that turn into a bacterial infection unless we can keep her from scratching it.I followed the sizing guide and she needed a 3XL, which is the largest size offered. She is about 75lbs but longer in body than other dogs this weight range. Just be aware that much larger dogs may not find a fit with this suit and make sure you measure your dog before ordering!The suit fits well and is easier to slip over and then tighten the velcro to fit rather than have the dog step into it open on the ground and velcro it over the back piece by piece. Being cotton knit, however, it does stretch out quite a bit with wear. A trip through the wash gets it back in shape easily though.The material is soft and the velcro closes well and holds on tight. The print is very cute.As far as keeping your dog from accessing their abdomen, it does mostly help. There is still a section my dog can get too when licking but overall she cannot scratch or lick her chest or upper stomach while wearing the suit. I feel like it would work well for spay surgery or other surgery recovery care as well. Just might have to keep tightening the velcro straps when it starts to stretch out or get two and wash one to get it to tighten back up while wearing another.I have a new Pitbull. She just had surgery and I thought this would be perfect. She is 70lbs and usually fits a large in dog clothes. This large, we could not even put her arms in. Please size up 2Xs. Although the design is so cute the size is wrong. The material is soft and I can imagine it would look super cute with the correct size.I wanted like this becuase it’s a great fabric and design but it finds a bit small. Other then that it’s great. Super soft covers what m you need it to cover just runs small. Think it’s better for small to medium dogs. My dog is 130 pounds and I did get the largest size which in other brands did fit but not this one.I followed the sizing instructions, but this is too large for my pup. Not only that, but it's a pain to put on because it has SO many velcro straps. You end up wrestling a bit (unless you have a dog that sits still for clothing application) and that seems to defeat the purpose. I am not giving this just one star as I think a better fit (smaller size for my dog) might have helped? Still, the neck area was really large and their were so many straps.
