Petflect Reflective AdventurePlay Collar for Dogs - High-Visibility Safety Collar with Adjustable Fit for Night Walks, Hiking & Outdoor Adventures

This is an awesome high-quality collar. We are fostering a 40lb German Shorthaired Pointer who is lean and muscular with a skinny neck of barely 14”. She has no leash manners yet (plus a high prey drive). For her safety, a well-made substantial collar is a must. But all the collars at the big box stores that are small enough to fit her are narrow and wimpy. I scoured Amazon listings and was ready to give up and either have a collar custom made, or buy a large wide collar and shorten it myself. The Petflect collar ended my search and is exactly what we needed. I was worried that the 1” width was a misprint, but I checked the company website, and it’s correct. All the various lengths still have the 1” width and high-quality hardware. Our GSP foster is in between size small and medium, but I bought the small, and it is perfect -- it’s not even on the loosest setting. The material is strong, but soft and flexible. And the reflective strip is actually sewn on, not an iron-on decal that you normally see on collars. We got the neon yellow and it is super bright -- looks great on her and provides extra visibility. I’m sure this collar would be great for any breed of dog, but if you have a lean sporting breed (Weim, Pointer, Vizsla, etc.) and have been searching for a non-wimpy collar that will actually fit, I recommend this brand. I’d definitely buy again.FIVE stars for visibility and quality of construction. Well stitched and durable, high-quality connection, very reflective.ONE star for safety: The collar loosens during normal wear, maybe because the reflective strip is slippery or because my dog scratches at the collar. If your dog likes to test the fit of the collar by trying to pull out backward, the collar will be longer than when you put it on and might come right off. We solved it by putting the leash on a second collar behind the reflective one for walks.SUGGESTIONS TO MANUFACTURER: A double-fed web holder at the clip ends and sliding retainers up against the plastic parts to prevent slippage. Otherwise a GREAT PRODUCT.It's a well-stitched collar with quality nylon and extremely reflective material that won't wear off, at a fair price. However... it progressively loosens from where you adjusted it to every several days. It's not a massive amount but enough that it could slip over the dog's head. Very annoying and inappropriate for the basic function of a collar (staying on snugly), so much so that I'm discontinuing use after a few months. I don't use it with a leash so can't speak to buckle quality. Maybe the adjuster they use has feeding sections too wide, maybe the reflective material is slippery, don't know.Would be a great product if not for this. A refund would be appreciated.The collar is huge and it said small. We meant to return it but did not get to. Now I am using it to attach things to my baby's stroller.Size Small fit comfy 12 inch neck with plenty room to grow into.Photo taken with flash. I have a black GSD puppy and became hard to spot him in the yard at night when he did his business. Love it. When he outgrows it I will get another one just like this one in a larger size.We have a black lab and seeing her at night was a challenge. Unfortunately the collar did not wear well for us.
