This dog winter coat is higher quality than some of my own pricey winter jackets!What's great:-- Water resistant outer shell, light padding to protect against chill, soft fleece lining.-- The coat has three adjustable drawstrings to cinch in the coat at the neck, the chest, and around the tummy.-- The sleeves for front legs and chest protect against the cold better than other dog coats that don't have this feature or have a simple flap.-- The under belly cut out was high enough up his chest to make sure my boy dog could pee without getting it wet.-- I love the high neck/gaiter, which let me cover my dog's ears.-- Putting the coat on is pretty simple, and the zipper glides easily.-- The integrated harness loop is great, but make sure you get the sizing correct.-- The back of the coat covers the side of your dog's back legs/butt (but there is no loop to secure that back fabric to your dog, so the wind will make it flap up).What I didn't love:-- Putting the coat ON is not a problem, but taking it off means that your dog's front paws dirty or wet from the walk will have to brush against the front leg sleeves.-- If your dog is stubborn on his walks (like mine is), and the coat isn't fitted snugly, the coat can slip far up over your dog's head or even come off when you pull on the leash.-- I don't know if active dogs would find the front sleeves to be slightly restricting of their mobility, since this fabric is not a stretchy material.Unfortunately I messed up measuring my dog, so I have to return it. But I did want to at least leave this review to note that I thought this was a great winter coat that would've been worth the extra cost!(I actually think the sizing chart provided here is accurate. On sizing, my dog's back length is 17 inches, his neck is 18.5 inches, and his chest is 23.5 inches. In the past I had problems with dog coats running small, so I ordered up one size just in case. My mistake! In my haste I ordered the X-Large when I should have ordered the Large. The XL actually fit my dog around his neck and chest area fine because of the adjustable drawstrings, but the back part was so large on him that he was swimming in it.)
