Do you remember the old 1980's version of this story presented in a movie and a TV show called Buck Rogers in the 25th Century? Dynamite must have used that as its source material (not the original Buck Rogers newspaper strips), updated the story for modern day tastes and threw in a pretty cool twist.The result is a damn cool romp into the future with Buck, Wilma, Dr. Huer, Princess Ardala, and Kane. The book is funny. Buck is very witty. The art is good. And, the story is flat out fantastic.I LOVE THIS BOOK!GO, BUCK! GO!It's a story with atomizer pistols and trans-suits on a post-holocaust world that is dominated by an evil galactic power called The Pack. Buck Rogers is a BIG DAMN HERO! He will crack a joke and SAVE THE DAY! And, you will enjoy every minute of watching him do that.Special Note: Look for all the Easter Eggs! If you look close, you'll find Twiggy, Dr. Theopolis, even the backbone & skull from the Predator films! Lots of good stuff like this, like the tip-of-the-hat to the original Planet of the Apes films. There are others, in this and in Vol. 2. I'm sure that you won't miss the Star Wars reference.Highly Recommended.The first of two books collection of a limited series...I'll go with it. I found it kinda confusing.NSTRGreat read. I recommend this for a good afternoon read.For me, it starts with the order itself. Received the book on time but in poor condition. The cover was bent and damaged. When I opened the book itself to flip thru it, the entire thing fell apart! The binding glue seemed to be hot glue and the book just fell apart! Seriously? I tried to read thru it a little before I sent it back to figure out if I wanted to exchange it or just return it...it was definitely NOT the best thing I had ever read. I didn't even make it thru the whole thing before deciding this wasn't for me. My return however was easy and quick!Fun to see revised classics, mostly, not always.
