Shock Doctor SVR Recovery Compression Pants for Men & Women - Post-Workout Muscle Support & Circulation - Ideal for Running, Gym, Yoga & Sports Recovery

Like others in the newest generation of Shock Doctor products, these leave a lot to be desired. Shock Doctor has been falling into the realm of cheaper brands, like Champion, Russell, and Hanes, in their feeble attempts at active wear. Yet, they keep a premium price point. At least every Walmart keeps those in stock for rock bottom price points.*Sizing*I wear an XL in shock doctor but, I was a little fearful after reading a few reviews on size mis-matches. Add to that my experiences lately, I sized up to XXL. The "waste" band (I'm accentuating the homophone here) is terrible. It's sized at what feels like a medium so, the act of putting them on started popping threads. The sewing work on it is lackluster at best; leaving loose threads without enough room to stretch. Where was the quality control? The band is also VERY stiff (why it feels like a medium); much more than normal. Should you have a tummy, it won't fold over easily (hey one positive). However, it makes it a bit of an irritant on sweaty skin.The pictures are of the 730's waist band size in comparison to an XL of all different models. Trust me here when I say there is ZERO size difference. You'd think it'd be ok then right? Nope. The band barely stretches. (I know one pic would have been sufficient. Sorry. I wanted to drive a point that I've been an SD fan for years and it's not brand biases.)*Crotch Area*This area has no where for your boys to escape (e.g. a pouch or a more forgiving material). It makes running in them or just sitting a little uncomfortable as they are constantly being squished between your thighs. Constant adjustment during a run to keep them from chaffing is very embarrassing. You'll need a jock under them.*Compression*The compression from these are very light. You'd expect heavy compression from the marketing. I squat and have big thighs and calves making it hard for anything but XL to fit around them and my butt comfortably. If you need heavy compression, your better off with long medical thigh-high socks. I actually get MUCH better compression on my calves and thighs in my hockey compression pants (Shock Doctor as well).*Closing Thoughts*Overall, I have been a Shock Doctor fan in all my sports hockey, football, and motox (Troy Lee stuff) for 10+ years and would like to continue being a loyal customer. However, these 730's are outright terrible and a waste of money as "relief" but, they would make an ok baselayer bottom if they were a little cheaper with a better waist band.After a few post-workout/shower wears, these pants seem to provide a decent amount of compression and feel great on. The groin area is a little awkward -- not a seamless through the groin as I'd prefer, but on the plus side, it does provide great mesh ventilation in this usually sweaty area. Comfortable enough to sleep in. As long as they continue to hold up after regular use/washes, I'll continue to be pleased.Damn good quality! Just the doing is off. I am a 38” waist. Chart says to go for a medium/x-large. It was a size too large. Returning for a medium/large. 1 star off because of the chart and the fact I had to pay more $ ? Hopefully all ends well!Recovery garments work by differential pressure, i.e. being tight at the ankle and getting somewhat looser as you go up toward the torso. These pants have that, though not as much as I had hoped or as much as the top that I bought at the same time. I went by the size chart, which might have sized them a little large.I wear these on my races: half-marathons, 10K, and 5K and they fit really well. I generally have knee problems, but running with these allow a quick recovery and holds everything in place. Below the waist, my body parts are larger than average. I wear 32/33 waist, but I have large thighs and cavs. I purchased the L size and they fit perfectly.Increible calidad de producto y excelente servicio.
