It's finally here! I've been trapped by this series since I found it. As usual, the genre, places, people are the same. I have come to love this series just for that. It doesn't change so much from book to book that they are stand alone books. Each book is linked to another but the focus is different. You could read the books separately, but you would be clueless about some the events or people referenced in the book. You wouldn't know their histories or why they are there. In fact, most are family! I enjoyed the introduction of the general public in this one. The majority of the series thus far starts in the commonplace then all of the sudden you're in another world. I have enjoyed the books immensely but there was always that gap. Like watching a movie about a group of people camping for two months and no one ever has to pee. This implement changed that and closed the void. The outside world of Little Dip is real and alive! And the people are normal fear-of-the-unknown standard populace. And they act on it. The fast paced wit and story keep you running from page to page. I lost hours to this book. When I finished it, I felt guilty. I ate the last of the chocolate! Now the wait beings. See you next year!
